The Gabriel Obregón Botero Theater of the Universidad de Medellín was inaugurated on September 26, 1985 for the exclusive use of the University, but thanks to its infrastructure and projection, it promptly opened its doors to the city.
It is the largest theater in the City of Medellín.
With 1.702 seats, excellent acoustics, state of the art technology and well trained and always available personnel, the Theater of the Universidad de Medellín meets all the specifications required for the presentation of national and international events.
The modern and complete ticket software, the sound console with 40 channels, the numerous microphones, the digital illumination system, followers, dimmers, reflectors, robotic lights, loudspeaker systems on both sides of the hall, V.I.P. room, press room, hall for 100 hundred people standing and 400 in auditorium type, appropriate for sponsorships and samplings, cocktails, dinners, product launching, POP exhibits, and others. Additionally, the Theater has a ramp of access for disabled people and rest rooms, vigilated parking lot with easy access from anywhere in the city, administrative, surveillance and cleaning personnel, ushers, which guarantee, together with good organization, the success of cultural events.
Four entrance doors, four emergency exits and a security and contingency plan approved by specialized institutions guarantee the welfare of the public.
The users have services except from taxes, and may have access to support units which will facilitate the logistics and organization of the event, such as the Professional Operator of Events, the Television Production Center and the Alumni Club House, the Center of Graphic Publicity Communication and the Center of Public Opinion.
On campus, the user may find auditoriums and alternate rooms, stationery materials, coffee shops and a beauty parlor, spaces which will help to optimize time.
